Guwahati, August 19, 2025: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that “Part II” of the ongoing eviction drive reached the Rengma Reserve Forest, reclaiming 26 hectares of forest land from alleged encroachers.
In a post on X, the Chief Minister said the “hot pursuit” against encroachment is continuing, adding that the area recovered is “enough to house 65 football fields.” He also indicated that the operation will continue in the coming days.
