8 Illegal Bangladeshi Infiltrators Pushed Back by Assam Police in South Salmara

Guwahati, July 26, 2025: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday confirmed that Assam Police has intensified its crackdown on illegal infiltration from Bangladesh.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the Chief Minister stated:
“Stern action against illegal infiltration continues. Last night, @SSalmaraPolice pushed back 8 illegal Bangladeshi infiltrators back to Bangladesh. @assampolice maintains a strict vigil to thwart all these attempts at illegally entering India.”

The incident took place in the South Salmara district, where police personnel intercepted the infiltrators attempting to cross into Indian territory. After verification, they were pushed back across the international border.

Assam Police continues to maintain strict surveillance along the border areas to prevent such illegal entries, reinforcing the state government’s firm stance on national security.
