Kokrajhar, August 16, 2025 — Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) Chief Executive Member Pramod Boro on Saturday laid the foundation stones for vertical extension projects at Kokrajhar Law College and the Gorkha Community Hall in Kokrajhar, calling the move “building the foundation for BTR’s progress.”
According to the BTR chief’s post on X, the Kokrajhar Law College extension will be built at an estimated cost of ₹1 crore. The extension to the Gorkha Community Hall has been sanctioned at ₹50 lakh. Mr. Boro said the works form part of broader efforts to improve civic and educational infrastructure across the region.
Local officials and community representatives who attended the ceremony welcomed the announcements, describing the projects as steps that would expand institutional capacity and create better community spaces in Kokrajhar. Similar foundation-stone ceremonies by Mr. Boro in nearby districts have recently kicked off a string of small- and mid-sized development works across the BTR.
