Nalbari, Assam | August 21, 2025: In a major success against the drug menace, Belsor Police have apprehended a suspected drug peddler and seized a substantial quantity of narcotics. Acting on timely information, the police team recovered 29.4 grams of suspected heroin, which was neatly packed in 13 plastic vials.
In addition to the narcotics, authorities also seized a motorcycle and a mobile phone, believed to have been used in the illegal trade. The operation was part of the continuous efforts by Nalbari Police to curb drug trafficking in the region.
A case has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, and further investigation is currently underway. Officials are working to trace the supply chain and identify others who may be involved in the network.
The police have reiterated their commitment to fighting the rising threat of drugs in Assam. They urged citizens to cooperate by sharing information about suspicious activities in their localities.
