GMC Imposes Penalties to Enforce Civic Rules in Guwahati

Guwahati, August 30: The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) has imposed fines at multiple city locations to ensure strict adherence to civic regulations and maintain public convenience.

According to an official update shared on X, a penalty of ₹3,000 was levied at Kamakhya Nursery, DG Road, for blocking the road. On MB Road, fines amounting to ₹7,000 were collected for stocking building materials on the road and littering in the drains. Similar penalties were also imposed on GS Road to curb violations affecting traffic flow and cleanliness.

The civic body reiterated its commitment to keeping Guwahati clean and orderly, while urging citizens to refrain from practices that obstruct roads, pollute drains, or inconvenience the public.

“With strict enforcement in place, GMC appeals to residents to cooperate in building a cleaner, safer city,” the statement read.
