Guwahati Police Solve Mobile Snatching Case Within 24 Hours, Accused Arrested

Guwahati, August 30: The East Guwahati Police District (EGPD) team from Basistha Police Station has cracked a mobile snatching case within 24 hours of the incident.

According to Guwahati Police, on August 27, a mobile phone was snatched by an unidentified scooty rider near Bhetapara–Ghoramara Road. Acting swiftly, the investigation team traced and apprehended the accused, identified as Charles Ahmed (23), also known as Charlee, a resident of Anupam Nagar, Hatigaon.

During the operation, police recovered the snatched Samsung mobile phone along with a TVS Ntorq 125 scooter (AS01FT7719), a helmet, jeans, and a pair of slippers used during the crime.

Officials confirmed that legal proceedings have been initiated against the accused.

The Guwahati Police reiterated their commitment to ensuring safety and quick response in cases of street crimes across the city.
