Guwahati: In a major breakthrough against drug trafficking, Assam Police seized a huge consignment of narcotics valued at over ₹10 crore.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Sunday that 70,000 YABA tablets were recovered during an anti-narcotics operation carried out by Sribhumi Police.

During the raid, one drug peddler was arrested. Authorities confirmed that further investigation is underway to trace the supply network and other individuals involved.

“YABA Tablets worth ₹10cr seized — still think you can outrun Assam Police?” the Chief Minister posted on X, lauding the police team for their successful operation.

The crackdown forms part of the state’s ongoing #AssamAgainstDrugs drive, aimed at eliminating the menace of drug trafficking and safeguarding the youth.
