Assam marked another milestone in its development journey as Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stones for several transformative projects on Saturday.

The projects include the Darrang Medical College and Nursing College, the Guwahati Ring Road, and the Narengi–Kuruwa bridge over the Brahmaputra. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, sharing the update on X, said the initiatives represent a major leap in healthcare and connectivity for the state.

He highlighted that the upcoming medical college will strengthen Assam’s vision of establishing 30 medical colleges by 2030, positioning the state as a frontrunner in healthcare.

On the connectivity front, the CM noted that the Guwahati Ring Road and the Narengi–Kuruwa bridge will significantly cut travel time around Guwahati while easing congestion in the capital city.

“These projects are truly transformative for the people of Assam,” Sarma wrote.
