Three Drug Peddlers Arrested in Nalapara, Guwahati; Heroin Seized

In a major anti-narcotics operation, a team of the East Guwahati Police District (EGPD) from Basistha Police Station raided a hideout at Nalapara, Guwahati, and arrested three notorious drug peddlers. The operation was carried out on the basis of specific intelligence inputs.

During the raid, the police recovered 49.14 grams of heroin concealed in two soap boxes and three tobacco boxes. The team also seized 18 empty vials and four mobile phones suspected to have been used in the drug trade.

The arrested persons have been identified as Abdul Salam alias Babu Ali, a resident of Manikpur in Bongaigaon; Nur Mohammad Ali from Goalpara; and Johurul Islam from Baghbar in Barpeta.

The Guwahati Police has initiated legal action against the accused, and further investigation is underway to trace the wider network behind the operation. Police officials have reaffirmed their commitment to intensifying the fight against drug trafficking in the city.
