The North East Education Conclave 2025 was inaugurated at Pragjyotishpur University in Chandrapur, Guwahati. The event was graced by several distinguished personalities, including Prof. T. G. Sitharam, Chairman of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE); Prof. Manish Joshi, Secretary of University Grants Commission (UGC); Prof. Smriti Kumar Sinha, Vice Chancellor of Pragjyotishpur University; and Prof. Kailash Chandra Sharma, President of Vidya Bharati Uchcha Shiksha Sansthan.
Education Minister Ranoj Pegu inaugurated the conclave and delivered a keynote address highlighting the significance of holistic implementation of the National Education Policy 2020. He stressed the importance of integrating Indian Knowledge Systems and skill development with general and professional education.
He noted that the NEP aims to create industry-ready professionals who can address emerging global challenges with competence and innovation. Pegu called upon all stakeholders in the education sector to work together to turn the NEP vision into a transformative reality for the education ecosystem in the region.
The conclave serves as a platform to foster dialogue and collaboration between policymakers, academic leaders, and industry experts to strengthen the education framework in the Northeast.
