Morigaon, October 28: A fatal road accident on National Highway 27 in Silchang, near Jagiroad, claimed three lives and left two others critically injured early Monday morning.

The incident occurred when a speeding Hyundai Creta (registration number AS-01EW-6546) carrying five occupants lost control, rammed into a road divider, and overturned before coming to a halt by the roadside.

Among the deceased were Dr. Kanteshwar Bordoloi, Ashique Hussain, and Manas Mahanta. Dr. Bordoloi, a well-known doctor at Morigaon Civil Hospital, was highly respected for his dedication to public service. He had recently earned praise for successfully helping deliver 21 babies on September 5.

Two other passengers sustained severe injuries in the accident and were rushed to Nagaon for advanced medical treatment. Their condition remains critical, according to hospital sources.

Local police arrived at the scene soon after the crash and have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the mishap. Preliminary reports suggest that excessive speed and loss of control may have led to the tragedy.

The untimely death of Dr. Bordoloi has left the local medical community and residents of Morigaon in deep shock, with many expressing grief over the loss of a compassionate and dedicated doctor who served selflessly.

Authorities have urged motorists to exercise caution, especially along the accident-prone stretches of National Highway 27, where several similar incidents have been reported in recent months.
