Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced two major drug seizures by Assam Police in Karbi Anglong, marking another significant breakthrough in the state’s intensified war on narcotics.

According to the Chief Minister’s post on X, Karbi Anglong Police carried out two separate operations that led to the confiscation of high-value contraband. In the first operation at Dillai Tiniali, officials seized 1.959 kg of morphine, estimated to be worth ₹11.19 crore in the illegal market. One drug peddler was arrested in connection with the haul.

In another operation near Lahorijan Naka Point, the police recovered 414 grams of heroin, further strengthening the crackdown on drug trafficking routes passing through the district.

With these back-to-back recoveries, Assam Police have once again demonstrated their continued resolve to curb narcotics networks operating in the region. CM Sarma praised the teams, saying the operations turned “drug dreams to dust,” underscoring the government’s zero-tolerance policy on drug-related crimes.
