Under the programme, eligible students domiciled in Assam will receive a monthly stipend of ₹300 for a duration of four months starting November 2025, regardless of their financial background. More than 4.4 lakh students are expected to benefit from the scheme.
Key Objectives of the Scheme
- Help students afford essential study materials, books, and nutritious food
- Boost confidence, morale, and mental well-being
- Reduce dropout rates, particularly among economically challenged and rural students
- Increase enrollment in government and provincialised schools as well as Adarsha Vidyalayas
- Improve overall pass percentage in HSLC and Class X board examinations
The Assam government believes the scheme will play a vital role in strengthening the education ecosystem of the state and ensuring that students receive the motivation and support they need to excel in their upcoming board examinations.
