Arunachal BJP Celebrates 9 Years of Pema Khandu Government, Hails Era of Unprecedented Growth

Itanagar, July 18, 2025: The Arunachal Pradesh unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday marked the completion of nine years of the Pema Khandu-led government with a celebration at the party’s state headquarters in Itanagar. The event showcased the government’s achievements and reaffirmed its commitment to continue the state’s development journey.

The programme saw the participation of key leaders including MLAs Mutchu Mithi and Alo Libang, BJP IT and E-Governance Cell Chairman Nyamar Karbak, Vice President Ashok Sangchou, General Secretary Junty Singphoo, as well as several party office bearers, newly appointed chairmen, vice chairmen, and former legislators.

Addressing the gathering, Nyamar Karbak recounted Chief Minister Pema Khandu’s political journey since 2011, describing him as an “inspiring leader” whose vision and dedication have guided the state through a transformative nine-year period.

“We, his colleagues, are proud to work under his leadership,” Karbak said, highlighting the trust and unity within the party.

Mutchu Mithi, in his speech, praised the leadership of Chief Minister Khandu and Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, calling their combined efforts a “golden chapter in Arunachal’s history.” He credited them for ushering in unprecedented growth and development, noting that the public’s trust in the duo has helped Arunachal reach new developmental milestones.

“Arunachal has witnessed significant progress under their leadership, and the people’s confidence reflects the success of this golden era of governance,” Mithi added.

He also credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visionary leadership, stating that under the BJP, Arunachal Pradesh has transformed from merely a strategic border region to a “land of peace and development.”

Mithi further pointed to the sanctioning of the Frontier Highway as a crucial step toward improving connectivity and strengthening national security along the international border.

Highlighting financial growth, he said the state’s budget had expanded from ₹9,000 crore in 2014 to ₹39,000 crore in 2025, symbolizing major strides in economic development and infrastructure enhancement.

“Our Chief Minister continues to work relentlessly for the welfare of the people, backed by dedicated BJP karyakartas across the state,” Mithi emphasized.

In a press release, the BJP stated that the event embodied a “shared sense of pride, unity, and determination to carry forward Arunachal Pradesh’s journey of transformation and prosperity.” The party reaffirmed its commitment to furthering the vision of CM Pema Khandu and Dy CM Chowna Mein with the continued support of the people and the strong leadership of the BJP at both state and national levels.
