The Chief Minister lauded Oil India Limited for its sustained performance and technological advancements in exploration and production activities, particularly in the Northeast, where the company has played a crucial role in driving industrial growth and employment generation.
The FIPI Awards, presented by the Federation of Indian Petroleum Industry, recognise excellence and innovation across the oil and gas sector. Industry leaders view the award as a significant milestone, highlighting Oil India Limited’s contribution to enhancing domestic energy output and reducing dependence on imports.
Officials said OIL’s focus on expanding exploration activities, adopting modern technologies and maintaining high safety and environmental standards has helped the company achieve consistent growth in production. Its efforts are also seen as critical to meeting the country’s rising energy demand.
The Assam government reiterated its support for the oil and gas sector, noting that strong performance by public sector companies like Oil India Limited not only strengthens national energy security but also boosts regional development, especially in energy-producing states such as Assam.
With the FIPI Award 2025, Oil India Limited has further reinforced its position as a key player in India’s oil and gas landscape, contributing to the Centre’s broader goal of achieving long-term energy self-sufficiency.
