The reopening of the bridge is expected to significantly ease transportation in the region, restoring an old connectivity link that had long been disrupted. The development is also seen as a key step toward resuming infrastructural work at the Tarapur Sinking Zone, a region that has seen delays due to logistical challenges caused by the damaged bridge.
Local residents and commuters have welcomed the timely completion, noting improvements in traffic flow and accessibility. The restored bridge is expected to boost both commercial and daily travel across the Barak Valley.
This is another infrastructural milestone under CM Sarma’s administration, emphasizing swift execution and public-centric governance.
