Assam Government Announces Recipients of Literary Award and Pension for 2025–26

The Government of Assam has declared the names of 18 noted writers selected for the Assam Literary Award and 10 prominent literary figures chosen for the Assam Literary Pension for the year 2025–26. The announcement was made through an official notification issued by the Higher Education Department.

The selection process was carried out in accordance with the Assam Literary Award & Pension Rules, 1974 (as amended).

Each recipient of the Assam Literary Award will receive a one-time cash prize of ₹50,000, while the selected pension beneficiaries will be entitled to a monthly pension of ₹8,000, effective from December 7, 2025.

The government stated that the initiative aims to recognize significant contributions to Assamese literature and encourage literary pursuits in the state.
