In a significant step toward strengthening public safety and boosting employment, the Assam government has announced the creation of 4,000 new posts in the Assam Police. The new recruitment drive marks another milestone in the state’s ambitious commitment to provide 2 lakh government jobs to the youth.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma shared the update on X, writing,
“Swagat nahi karoge humara? 😎👮‍♂️🔥 4,000 new @assampolice jobs coming soon in a big push towards our mission of providing 2 lakh government jobs for our youth. Our future recruits are ready to serve with ‘Pride and Honour’.”

Officials confirmed that the vacancies will span various branches of Assam Police, opening opportunities for candidates with diverse skills, qualifications, and career aspirations. The government aims to attract disciplined and dedicated individuals who can contribute to maintaining law and order while upholding the department’s motto of “Pride and Honour.”

This expansion aligns with Assam’s broader employment push, under which recruitment processes in multiple government departments have been fast-tracked. It also fulfils a core promise made to the youth: creation of meaningful government employment across sectors.

The move not only strengthens the state police force but also reinforces the government’s commitment to empowering the younger generation by offering secure, respectable, and impactful career options.

With this announcement, Assam continues to move forward on its mission of building a stronger workforce and enhancing the state’s security infrastructure—ensuring that opportunity and public safety advance hand in hand.
