SILCHAR: In a major crackdown, Assam Police, in a joint operation with the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), intercepted a country-made boat in the Barak River and seized contraband worth ₹8 crore.

The operation led to the recovery of 10,000 Yaba tablets and 1,25,000 packets of Essential Light cigarettes. The seizure marks a significant achievement in the fight against smuggling and illegal trade in the region.
