In a major success in Assam’s ongoing war against narcotics, Cachar Police seized 1.2 kg of heroin worth ₹6 crore and arrested three drug peddlers during an operation on Saturday.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma shared the update on X, commending the police for their swift and effective action. He wrote, “Hopes of getting high BUSTED! 🚨 @CacharPolice seized 1.2 kg of heroin worth ₹6 crore and arrested 3 drug peddlers. Kudos to @assampolice for giving drug traffickers the GPS rerouting of their lives, that ends at the police station 🚓.”

The Chief Minister’s post reflects the state government’s continued zero-tolerance policy towards drug trafficking under the ongoing #AssamAgainstDrugs campaign.

Over the past few years, Assam Police have intensified anti-narcotics operations, leading to numerous seizures and arrests across the state. The latest bust once again underscores the administration’s firm commitment to making Assam a drug-free state.
