The Assam Government is set to hold a major teacher recruitment ceremony today, November 9, 2025, where Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma will distribute appointment letters to 5,500 newly appointed Lower Primary (LP) and Upper Primary (UP) teachers.
The event will take place at Veterinary College playground, Khanapara, Guwahati, at 3:00 PM, marking another significant milestone in the government’s mission to strengthen the education sector and fill long-pending teaching vacancies across the state.
Education Minister Dr. Ranoj Pegu, who inspected the venue on Saturday evening, confirmed that all arrangements are in place for the grand ceremony. Sharing details on X, he said, “Visited the Veterinary College playground at Khanapara this evening to review the preparations for the distribution of appointment letters to 5,500 LP/UP teachers by HCM @himantabiswa tomorrow.”
