Chargola, Oct 18: In a major blow to the drug network, police seized a large consignment of narcotics worth ₹6 crore in a swift operation.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma shared on X that 20,000 Yaba tablets were seized by Sribhumi Police during a targeted raid in Chargola. Two suspected peddlers have been arrested in connection with the case.
The CM praised Assam Police for its continued crackdown on the drug menace, highlighting the state’s relentless mission to curb illegal trafficking.
Police sources confirmed that further investigation is underway to trace the larger network involved. This successful operation adds to a series of recent actions aimed at dismantling drug cartels across the state.
