Gauhati University has set a remarkable benchmark in academic governance by accelerating the declaration of undergraduate and postgraduate results, enhancing student convenience through the use of cutting-edge digital technology.
Through strategic administrative reforms and the adoption of digital tools, the university has ensured that thousands of students receive their results promptly. This transformation highlights a growing commitment to transparency, efficiency, and student well-being.
Prof. Kandarpa Kumar Sarma, Controller of Examinations, praised the role of digital systems in this progress. “Results have been declared well within expected timelines, thanks to the dedication of our faculty, examiners, and administrative staff,” he said. He further explained that the Samarth portal, featuring a three-level verification system involving evaluators, scrutinisers, and heads of departments, has played a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and fairness of evaluations.
Recent statistics reflect this efficiency:
- B.Com 6th Semester: 91.16% pass rate, results declared in 24 days
- B.A. 6th Semester: 90.54% pass rate, results declared in 32 days
- B.Sc. 6th Semester: 87.25% pass rate, results declared in 25 days
Postgraduate departments have also demonstrated impressive efficiency:
- 4th Semester Results: Declared across 35 departments
- 2nd Semester Results: Declared across 32 departments, all within two weeks
To further support students, Gauhati University has introduced an automated revaluation system. Students are provided a 15-day window to apply for revaluation through an online link. This link automatically deactivates after the deadline, ensuring a secure and tamper-proof process.
Additionally, a grievance redressal cell has been established at the GUCDOE building. It remains open daily from 2 PM to 5 PM to address exam-related queries, ensuring that student concerns are resolved swiftly and transparently.
The university has also confirmed that law programme results will be announced within two months, ensuring that all departments benefit from the streamlined system.
