Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) has imposed a fine of ₹40,000 on an apartment complex for illegally discharging boring materials into a public drain and blocking a footpath.
According to a post by GMC on X, the act not only damaged the city’s drainage system but also created difficulties for pedestrians. The civic body termed such behaviour as “irresponsible” and urged citizens to follow proper waste disposal norms.
“We urge all citizens to work with us to keep our city clean, safe, and livable for everyone,” GMC stated.
The penalty was recorded under ULB Code: 801627.
