Guwahati, Sept 1: In an effort to strengthen the city’s waste management system, the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) on Monday conducted an inspection at the Chabipool Transfer Station and Bio-Methanation Plant under Division IV.
The visit was led by GMC Commissioner Dr. M.S. Lakshmi Priya, IAS, accompanied by Executive Officers Smt. Bonita Chetia, AUAS (Division IV), and Smt. Parinita Sharma, AUAS (Division III), along with Sanitation Inspector Sanjay Malakar and supervisors of Division IV.
During the inspection, the team reviewed the functioning of the facilities, assessed operational efficiency, and identified key challenges in waste processing. Officials also discussed measures to enhance sustainable waste management practices in the city.
The GMC stated that the review forms part of its continuous monitoring and improvement initiatives aimed at building a robust and environmentally sustainable waste management infrastructure in Guwahati.
