Guwahati, July 25: In a successful anti-narcotics operation, Guwahati Police on Wednesday arrested an 18-year-old drug peddler from a hideout in Beharbari. The operation was carried out by the East Guwahati Police District (EGPD) team from Basistha Police Station, based on specific intelligence input.
The arrested individual has been identified as Anil Boro, a resident of Lalmati. During the raid, the police team recovered 342 grams of ganja from his possession.

“Acting on intel, EGPD team from Basistha PS raided a hideout at Beharbari & arrested one drugs peddler — Anil Boro (18) of Lalmati. 342 gms of Ganja seized from his possession. Legal action initiated.”
Police officials confirmed that a case has been registered against the accused under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. He is currently in custody and will be produced before the court for further legal proceedings.
This arrest comes as part of Guwahati Police’s ongoing crackdown on drug trafficking and illegal narcotics trade in the city. The department has intensified operations in recent months, focusing on identifying and dismantling networks involved in drug peddling.
