Guwahati Police Bust Drug Racket, Two Arrested With 4.6 kg Ganja

A team from the East Guwahati Police District (EGPD) under Basistha Police Station has busted a drug peddling network during a raid at Basistha Chariali, leading to the arrest of two suspected drug traffickers. The development was shared by Guwahati Police in a post on X.

During the operation, police recovered 4.6 kilograms of ganja along with two mobile phones suspected to have been used for illegal activities.

The arrested individuals have been identified as:

Bakul Namasudra (23) from Sapatgram

Ajijul Rahman, also known as Deka (40) from Lalmati

Police stated that further investigation is underway and legal action has already been initiated against the accused.

The successful operation marks another step in Guwahati Police’s ongoing crackdown against the illegal drug trade in the city.
