Guwahati — In a swift and coordinated operation, a team of the East Guwahati Police District (EGPD) from Basistha Police Station successfully solved a burglary case reported from Barbakra, Lokhra. The incident involved miscreants breaking into a residence and stealing valuable items, including gold ornaments and household goods.
According to an update shared by Guwahati Police on X, three experienced burglars linked to the case were apprehended during the investigation. Their arrest later led to the recovery of stolen items from the possession of a receiver in Sawkuchi.
The arrested individuals have been identified as:
- Manoj Boro (23) – Pamohi, Garchuk
- Hirendra Kr. Boro (25) – Sawkuchi, Basistha
- Nitul Boro (25) – Bogribari, Tangla
- Sanidul Islam (25) – Sawkuchi
Police recovered and seized the following items during the operation:
- Six stolen gas cylinders
- One pair of stolen gold bangles
Guwahati Police confirmed that legal proceedings have been initiated against the accused.
The quick resolution of the case reflects the continuing efforts of the police to curb property crimes in the city and ensure public safety.
