Guwahati Police have solved a major warehouse burglary case reported from Lokhra Charali, arresting three accused and recovering a large cache of stolen goods.
According to police, an EGPD team from Basistha Police Station cracked the case involving a break-in at a warehouse on the night of December 29, 2025, where miscreants had forced open the shutter and stolen coils of Sturlite wires, lighting products and ceiling fans. The arrested accused have been identified as Ajit Das (39) from Morigaon, Majibur Rahman (35) from Nagaon, and Rajendra Nayak (24) from Basistha.
Based on the disclosure of Majibur Rahman, police recovered stolen Sturlite wires, flood lights, rope lights and bulbs hidden in a paddy field at Udhantala Char in Dhing. During interrogation, the accused also confessed to their involvement in another warehouse burglary reported from Beltola on December 10, 2025.
Police said further investigation is underway to ascertain their involvement in other similar offences.
