Guwahati Police Nab Drug Peddler with Heroin Near Vishal Point

Guwahati, July 22: In a continued crackdown on drug trafficking, the City General Police District (CGPD) team from Paltanbazar Police Station apprehended a suspected drug dealer near Vishal Point in Guwahati.

The accused, identified as Boswajit Boro (24) of Fatasil Ambari, was found in possession of 12 grams of heroin concealed in a soap box, along with a syringe and an empty vial.

Confirming the arrest, Guwahati Police shared the update on social media platform X, stating:
“A CGPD team from Paltanbazar PS apprehended a drug dealer — Boswajit Boro (24) of Fatasil Ambari — near Vishal Point with 12g of heroin (in a soap box), 1 syringe & 1 empty vial. Legal action initiated.”

The police have initiated legal proceedings against the accused under relevant provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

This action forms part of Assam Police’s intensified efforts under the #AssamAgainstDrugs campaign, aimed at curbing the drug menace in the state.

Authorities have reiterated their commitment to eradicating drug trafficking and urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities.
