Guwahati: In a coordinated operation, teams from Dispur Police Station under East Guwahati Police District (EGPD) and Noonmati Police Station under Central Guwahati Police District (CGPD) carried out a successful raid at Patharkuwari, leading to the recovery of multiple stolen items from the residence of a suspected habitual burglar.
According to an official update shared by Guwahati Police on X (formerly Twitter), the search was conducted at a rented house belonging to a “veteran burglar.” The recovered items include ₹40,000 in cash, two Lenovo laptops with chargers, six mobile phones, an LED television, and an air pistol.
The police also seized a large quantity of coins, two pairs of skating shoes, and several other household items believed to have been stolen.
Authorities have confirmed that further investigation is underway to identify possible links to additional theft cases and trace the owners of the recovered property.
The police statement also suggests that more arrests or recoveries may follow as the probe progresses.
Residents have praised the swift action, while law enforcement has reiterated its commitment to maintaining public safety and cracking down on repeat offenders in the city.
