From June 27 to July 5, 2025, the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) Guwahati will organize the annual Jagannath Rath Yatra, a major Vaishnavite festival that blends deep spiritual significance with vibrant cultural festivities. The event will feature a series of religious processions and devotional programs across the city.

As part of the celebrations, the deities—Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Goddess Subhadra—will be carried in grand processions through the streets of Guwahati on beautifully adorned chariots. These traditional parades symbolize the divine journey of the deities and are expected to attract thousands of devotees from various parts of Assam and beyond.

The Rath Yatra will begin on June 27 from Research Gate in Khanapara, and the procession will move along key city routes including APSC Point, the NH-37 Bypass service lane, and Tripura Road, before culminating at the ISKCON Jagannath Temple Project site in Joyanagar.

The Ulta Rath Yatra—the return journey—will take place on July 5, starting from the Jagannath Temple grounds in Joyanagar. The return chariot procession will follow an alternate route via Tripura Road, NH-37 service lane, Khanapara Veterinary College, APSC Road, and finally reach Kendriya Vidyalaya in Khanapara, where the celebrations will conclude.

Between these two grand processions, from June 28 to July 4, the ISKCON temple complex in Joyanagar will host a series of spiritual discourses on the Bhagavata Katha. Devotees and spiritual speakers will deliver daily talks focused on the themes of devotion, compassion, and inner enlightenment, offering participants an immersive spiritual experience.

This week-long festival not only serves as a sacred occasion for Vaishnavite worship but also promotes the cultural and spiritual vibrancy of Guwahati, bringing communities together in a spirit of harmony and devotion.
