Guwahati: Assam is set to witness a landmark addition to its cultural and infrastructural landscape with the upcoming Jyoti-Bishnu Prekhyagriha, which will soon be operational. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced the development on Friday through a post on X (formerly Twitter), highlighting the auditorium’s unique features and management plans.

The 5,000-seater facility is being hailed as East India’s biggest auditorium. Equipped with state-of-the-art amenities, it promises to become a premier destination for cultural events, large-scale performances, conventions, and community gatherings.

To ensure professional operations, the Assam government has entrusted the Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra Society with the responsibility of managing the new infrastructure. This move is expected to integrate the state’s rich cultural heritage with modern management practices, ensuring smooth functioning of the facility.

Sharing images of the auditorium on X, CM Sarma wrote:

“The upcoming Jyoti-Bishnu Auditorium will be one of a kind, being the largest in the Eastern region, featuring state-of-the-art facilities. To ensure its professional management, we have entrusted its operations to the Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra society. Opening Soon.”

The Jyoti-Bishnu Prekhyagriha is anticipated to boost Assam’s cultural prominence, providing a world-class platform for artists, performers, and organizations across the region. With its inauguration around the corner, the state looks forward to witnessing a new era in cultural and artistic expression.
