A massive show of support for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) unfolded in the hilly region of Karbi Anglong as Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), Tuliram Ronghang, personally welcomed new party members at a grand rally held in Amreng-Kapili. The event, jointly organized by the BJP’s Amreng and Kapili Mandal Committees, drew a crowd of over 5,000 supporters, marking a significant political moment in the district.

Addressing the gathering, Ronghang called for greater unity among the people, emphasizing that peace and progress go hand in hand. He stated that development must reach all corners of the region equally and promised that the BJP-led KAAC would ensure just that. The CEM also announced plans to construct a community hall and stage near the rally venue and committed to fast-tracking key infrastructure projects in both Amreng and Kapili.

Several party leaders spoke during the event, highlighting the achievements under BJP governance in the autonomous district. Pawan Kumar, the elected MAC from Kapili’s 7 No. seat, praised the development initiatives taken under Ronghang’s leadership and credited him for the region’s steady transformation. Similarly, Rina Terangpi, the MAC from Amreng’s 09 No. constituency, pointed out how infrastructure and welfare services have seen noticeable improvement since the BJP assumed leadership.

The rally turned into a major political gathering with the participation of KAAC Executive Members, MACs, and board chairpersons. Even former MAC Chandra Bahadur Chetri made an appearance. The event was further bolstered by the presence of senior BJP functionaries and prominent public representatives, including Lok Sabha MP Amarsing Tisso, Diphu MLA Bidya Sing Engleng, Howraghat MLA Dorsing Ronghang, and Baithalangso MLA Rupsing Teron.

The strong turnout and the enthusiastic reception from the public have given the BJP a significant morale boost as the region heads towards the next round of elections. More importantly, the rally reaffirmed the party’s growing foothold in the autonomous hill areas of Assam, underlining a surge in support that could shape the political landscape in the months ahead.
