Rangia: Acting on a tip-off, Kamrup Police intercepted a Nexon car at Tetliguri and arrested a drug peddler on Saturday.
The operation was carried out by the Officer-in-Charge of Rangia Police Station, Traffic Sub-Inspector Rangia, and staff members. During the search, police seized five vials of heroin weighing six grams, a mobile phone, and the vehicle.
The arrested individual has been identified as Samarjyoti Baishya (30). Police confirmed that legal proceedings have been initiated against him under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
Authorities said the drive reflects their continued efforts to curb drug trafficking in the district.
