Kamrup Police on Thursday apprehended two individuals in connection with drug trafficking during an operation led by the Officer-in-Charge of Changsari Police Station and his team.
The accused, identified as Dudul Ali and Apsara Begum, were nabbed from Chowkigate, Ambari. During the operation, police recovered 24 grams of suspected brown sugar, two mobile handsets, a Yamaha bike, and ₹3,200 in cash believed to be proceeds from illegal activities.
Officials confirmed that both accused have been taken into custody, and legal action has been initiated under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Investigations are underway to determine the source of the contraband and the possible involvement of a larger network.
Kamrup Police reiterated their commitment to intensifying the crackdown on illegal drugs and urged citizens to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities.
