Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu on Wednesday attended the inauguration of the new campus premises of Bhattadev University at Medhikuchi, which was formally inaugurated by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
The new infrastructure, constructed at a cost of ₹53 crore, includes a modern administrative block, three academic buildings equipped with advanced laboratories, residential quarters for the Vice-Chancellor and other senior officials, and a cafeteria.
During the programme, the Chief Minister also announced an additional grant of ₹64 crore for the second phase of construction, aimed at further strengthening the university’s facilities.
Highlighting the state’s progress in higher education, Pegu said Assam continues to achieve new milestones under the Chief Minister’s leadership and expressed gratitude for the government’s sustained focus on expanding educational infrastructure and improving academic growth.
