Mumbai, July 1: Veteran actor Paresh Rawal has officially confirmed his return to the Hera Pheri franchise, putting an end to months of speculation surrounding the film’s original cast. The actor, who had earlier stepped away due to creative differences, revealed that all internal matters have now been settled.
Rawal announced his return in a recent podcast with Himanshu Mehta, stating that he had repaid ₹11 lakh along with 15% interest to actor Akshay Kumar’s production company, thereby closing any outstanding financial concerns. The actor emphasized that there is no controversy and that the decision was driven by respect for the audience and the legacy of the film.
In his statement, Rawal noted that it was important for the team to come together and deliver a film that lives up to the expectations of the fans. He added that the audience’s admiration for the Hera Pheri series places a responsibility on the creators to ensure quality and effort in its continuation.
The actor further said that such iconic films cannot be taken lightly, and the creative team must work with dedication. According to Rawal, all earlier creative disagreements have now been resolved, paving the way for the franchise to move forward with its original team.
Responding to ongoing speculation, Rawal confirmed that Hera Pheri 3 will proceed with the original cast, which includes Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, and himself. He acknowledged that the project was always intended to move forward but required time for creative alignment among all parties involved, including filmmaker Priyadarshan.
