Pijush Hazarika Reviews Pahumara Embankment Works in Bajali

Bajali, Oct 24: Assam Water Resources Minister Pijush Hazarika on Friday informed that officials of the Water Resources Department visited various stretches of the Pahumara Embankment System under the Bajali Water Resources Division.

The visit aimed to assess the ongoing projects under the NIDA and NABARD schemes. The inspection team reviewed the progress of the works and examined the quality of implementation to ensure that all activities are being carried out as per standards.

Sharing the update on X, Minister Hazarika wrote, “Officials of the Water Resources Department visited different reaches of the Pahumara Embankment System under Bajali WR Division. The team inspected ongoing works under NIDA and NABARD schemes to review progress and ensure quality implementation.”

The inspection comes as part of the department’s continued efforts to strengthen flood control measures and enhance the resilience of embankments across the state.

Minister Hazarika has been closely monitoring key water resource projects across Assam to ensure timely completion and long-term safety for communities living near riverbanks.
