A potentially tragic incident was averted on Tuesday when alert citizens and personnel from Basistha Police Station came together to rescue a man whose leg had become dangerously stuck in an open manhole near Basistha Chariali.
Acting swiftly, Sub-Inspector Jishu Janakya Gogoi of Basistha PS, along with Lance Naik Sahadev Biswas from the Basistha Traffic Branch, led the rescue operation. Their prompt action ensured the man was safely pulled out before the situation could worsen.
Thanks to the vigilance of nearby locals and the quick response by the police, the incident was effectively brought under control, preventing serious injury or possible fatality.
