Guwahati, August 9 — The City Guwahati Police District (CGPD) team from Paltan Bazar Police Station raided Hotel Bilas in the Bora Service area on Friday and uncovered that the premises were being operated as a brothel.
Following the raid, police arrested the hotel’s owner, Kiran Kr Gogoi (40), a resident of Hatigaon, and the manager, Simanta Bora (28), of Bora Service.
Authorities confirmed that a case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act.
Police sources said further investigation is underway to identify others involved in the illegal activity and to dismantle the network linked to the premises.
