In a major security operation, police in Rajasthan’s Rajsamand district intercepted a pick-up truck carrying a huge quantity of explosives and arrested two individuals travelling in the vehicle.

The truck was stopped during a late-night checking drive near Trinetra Circle following a tip-off. Upon inspection, officers found over 100 cartons filled with explosive material including 981 gelatin sticks, 93 detonators, and a 30-foot safety fuse.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Bhagwat Singh and Himmat Singh, both residents of Rajasthan. According to officials, neither of them could produce the legally required paperwork for transporting such explosive items.

Authorities believe the consignment was likely meant for nearby marble mining operations, as the region is known for its large number of mines.

Deputy Superintendent of Police, Shipra Rajawat, confirmed the development, stating:
“Acting on confidential information, a blockade was set up and the vehicle was stopped. The occupants failed to provide valid documents, after which legal action was initiated and the explosives were seized.”

The pick-up truck has been impounded, and a case has been registered under relevant sections. A detailed investigation is underway to determine the source and intended destination of the explosives, as well as whether any larger network is involved.
