Guwahati Police said an EGPD team from Basistha police station conducted a search operation at Khanapara New ISBT. The action followed received inputs, the force said in an X post.
During the operation, police rescued six persons suffering from drug addiction from the ISBT area. The team did not disclose identities or ages.
All six rescued individuals have been shifted to rehabilitation centres for de-addiction treatment, the post said. Police added the move aims to offer medical help and social support.
