Guwahati: In a major success against the drug menace, Sribhumi Police seized a huge consignment of narcotics during an operation at Puwamara.
According to Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, the police team recovered 650 grams of heroin and 10,000 Yaba tablets, with the total worth estimated at around ₹5 crore.
Four drug peddlers were arrested in connection with the seizure. Authorities said the crackdown is part of Assam’s intensified fight against drug trafficking.
The Chief Minister lauded the Sribhumi Police for their swift action and reiterated the government’s firm commitment to making the state drug-free.
Further investigation is underway to identify the wider network linked to the arrested traffickers.
