Guwahati Police apprehended two suspected burglars during a patrol operation conducted by an East Guwahati Police District (EGPD) team from Basistha Police Station on Friday. The arrests took place near Beltola College Road in Bongaon.
The accused have been identified as Abdul Latif (30) and Atikur Rahman (25), both hailing from Hajo. Police stated that the duo was found roaming suspiciously inside a Magic vehicle. During the search, tools commonly used for break-ins and two stolen mobile phones were recovered.
The seized items include a Tata Magic vehicle (AS01SC 8478), an open-ended wrench, an iron opener, a metal rod, a stolen Realme phone, and a Redmi phone.
Authorities have initiated legal proceedings against the duo as part of an ongoing effort to curb burglary-related crimes in the city.
