The policy aims to position Meghalaya as a leading hub for film production in the Northeast and across India by leveraging its scenic landscapes, cultural richness, and growing interest from filmmakers.<\/p>\n
\u201cAfter receiving over 200 stakeholder feedbacks on the Draft Meghalaya Film Policy, we incorporated the inputs and presented the final policy to the Cabinet for approval,\u201d the Chief Minister posted.<\/p>\n
The policy comes after extensive consultations with over 200 stakeholders, including filmmakers, producers, tourism experts, and cultural representatives. Their feedback was integrated into the final version, ensuring that the policy is inclusive, practical, and aligned with industry needs.<\/p>\n

\nAs part of the policy implementation, a Film Facilitation Cell has been constituted. The cell includes officials from the Tourism Department, Department of Arts & Culture, Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), and other relevant departments. It will serve as a single-window support system to assist filmmakers in obtaining necessary permissions, accessing locations, and coordinating logistics.<\/p>\n
