The initiative aims to combat plastic pollution and promote eco-friendly practices across the railway network.<\/p>\n<p>NFR\u2019s Chief Public Relations Officer, Kapinjal Kishore Sharma, informed that the railway is working in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)-Guwahati and the Assam Pollution Control Board (PCBA) to formulate a detailed action plan. The task of preparing the project proposal has been assigned to M\/s Kusum Udyog, a recycling agency approved by PCBA.<\/p>\n<p>Sharma added, \u201cThe agenda includes a thorough review of existing waste disposal practices, identification of high-impact plastic use areas, and designing a joint action strategy to reduce single-use plastics and encourage sustainable practices.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As part of the project, all plastic waste generated at the station will be systematically collected, shredded, washed, segregated, and then recycled in compliance with environmental norms.<\/p>\n<p>To increase public participation and awareness, the Scouts and Guides of NFR are actively conducting outreach programmes.
