The Minister reviewed the ongoing construction work and directed the authorities to expedite the remaining tasks. He also chaired a review meeting with officials following the site inspection.<\/p>\n<p>Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Atul Bora wrote:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo honor the brave martyrs of the historic Assam Movement, the State Govt under the visionary leadership of Hon\u2019ble CM Dr. @himantabiswa is nearing completion of the Swahid Smarak Kshetra &#038; Udyan at Pachim Boragaon, Guwahati.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The sacrifice of our Veer Swahids will always be remembered by a thankful State.<\/p>\n<p>The memorial, once completed, will be a fitting tribute to their sacrifice and legacy. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/33y4LxMnm0\">https:\/\/t.co\/33y4LxMnm0<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Himanta Biswa Sarma (@himantabiswa) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/himantabiswa\/status\/1949115724267725117?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 26, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p> <script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The sprawling memorial park, covering 116 bighas, will feature a 67.2-metre-high tower, busts of all movement martyrs, a light and sound show, a cycle track, and a food court. The site is being developed not only as a tribute to the martyrs but also as a historical and cultural landmark for the people of Assam.<\/p>\n<p>Present at the site were several senior leaders and officials, including AASU President Shri Utpal Sarma, Chief Advisor Dr. Samujjal Bhattacharjya, and General Secretary Shri Samiran Phukan. Shri Dhruba Mahanta, Principal Press Secretary to the Chief Minister, and Shri Kuntalmani Sarma Bordoloi, Joint Secretary of the Chief Minister\u2019s Secretariat\u2014both members of the committee overseeing photo collection, authenticity, and display of the martyrs\u2014were also in attendance.<\/p>\n<p>Key officials from the Implementation of Assam Accord Department, including Joint Secretaries Shri Arup Kumar Pathak and Shri Dharanidhar Das, as well as senior officials from PWD, participated in the site inspection and review session.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on the occasion, Atul Bora reaffirmed the government&#8217;s commitment to protecting the interests of the indigenous people of Assam. He said that the State Government has taken active steps toward implementing various clauses of the historic Assam Accord. Notably, as part of Clause 6 implementation, 52 recommendations from the report submitted by the Justice (Retd) Biplab Kumar Sarma Committee are already under action.<\/p>\n<p>Reacting to the post, Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma responded on X, stating:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe sacrifice of our Veer Swahids will always be remembered by a thankful State.
