Assam Minister Ashok Singhal on Wednesday attended the launch programme of the Swasthyaban Shramik Yojana at Dhekiajuli Tea Estate, calling the initiative a crucial step towards building a healthier Assam through healthy workers.<\/p>\n
In a post on social media platform X, Singhal said the scheme is being introduced as a pilot project across 20 tea gardens in Assam. The targeted programme aims to improve the overall health indicators of tea garden communities by conducting intensive screenings for non-communicable diseases such as diabetes, anaemia and hypertension.<\/p>\n
Addressing workers and their families at Dhekiajuli, Singhal emphasised that the well-being of tea garden labourers is essential for the state\u2019s progress. He urged members of the tea garden community to actively participate in the initiative and take advantage of the health screenings for a better and healthier future.<\/p>\n
