The project is being implemented by the Department of Fisheries, Government of Assam, with funding support under the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF-XXIX) for the year 2022\u201323.<\/p>\n<p>The fish seed farm is being developed at a total cost of \u20b91.02 crore and aims to strengthen local aquaculture by ensuring the availability of quality fish seed for farmers in Dhemaji and surrounding areas. The facility is expected to reduce farmers\u2019 dependence on fish seed sourced from outside the district, thereby lowering input costs and improving productivity.<\/p>\n<p>Sharing the development on X, Ranoj Pegu stated that the project would play a crucial role in improving the livelihoods of fish farmers while promoting sustainable fisheries development in the region. He emphasized that access to high-quality fish seed is a key factor in enhancing fish production and income generation in rural areas.<\/p>\n<p>Officials of the Fisheries Department said the Singijan Fish Seed Farm would support scientific breeding practices, help maintain genetic quality of fish stock, and contribute to the long-term growth of the fisheries sector.
